Overcome
Even if I thought I could,
It wouldn’t be so good,
Nothing to share,
As though I would ever dare
You think you understand,
Or think my ways are underhand,
A life full of tears,
Pondering over all my fears
No one here,
Or anyplace near,
Bothers about me,
At least as far as I can see
But when the end comes,
With all the clapping and drums,
The very top, I will be there,
And at me everyone shall stare.
Even if I’m small,
I shall beat you all,
I’m no longer a useless elf,
Ever since I overcame myself
