I Don't Want To Grow Up
I wish I were Peter Pan,
So I could fly away to Neverland.
I could eat and eat and never gain;
if I hurt myself, I'd go through no pain.
I could soar the world and outer space.
I could be part of a pirate chase.
I'd tell stories to the group,
’cause lost boys are part of my troupe.
I would have stayed a kid forever.
If someone told me “grow,” I’d never.
I would live forever and ever in Neverland.
Now I am older, but I know that it’s fine.
Since I’m still a kid, I have some time.
Someday I hope to fly away,
and from Neverland I shall return for just one day,
To say goodbye to all I know,
for Neverland is for those who can crow.
And though I can't crow yet, I too will learn,
’cause I must since from there I shall never return.
To those who'll miss me, you should try some day.
Just think happy thoughts and fly away!
Past the stars that day you'll see,
Neverland is the happiest place to be!
