Gone without a good bye
Bruised, battered, and broken,
glued with blood to the sidewalk.
holding in one hand the silver token,
wishing the others wouldn't gawk.
They yell and laugh at me,
trying to wrench the token from my grasp.
Taunting my screams to let me be,
The kicks to my gut makes me gasp.
The eyes of the bystanders gleam,
excitement filling their eyes.
For they rally the opposite team,
and see me in disguise.
My blood is hot ans salty,
for I taste it in my mouth.
Stars are twinkling before my eyes,
the pain is subtle and fading.
I hear the words an feel the blows,
yet the pain I feel no more.
I hope to heaven my spirit goes,
and get embraced right at the door.
