Lies, Truth, Hope and Promises
A kaleidoscope of lies lies
In the deep corner of the eyes
It hides like opals in a chest
But it's never been safe from thieves
For when the real floods flood abreast
Lies stream down, then no one believes
The truth, a big slap of a hand
Ne'er been hard like swallowing sand
But it pierces like a cold knife
It pricks like a swift metal dart
Ah, it bleeds the bare skin of life
But once accepted, it heals heart
Hope that hope's a morning coffee
Drunk in a thin gold cup trophy
Its aroma fuses with air
And brews everyone to victor
It wakes a thought from a blank stare
And opens the mind's dormant store
Ah, promises aren't made to break
They are bent by lies, real and fake
Yet they are left undone, entwined
Like strings, knots and twisted fences
For the truth: People fear to find
And untie the hope of chances
