Friend
When I was all alone,
Tired of hearing all the sarcastic tones
In friendship I had lost all trust
Into silent tears I would often burst.
Friends were gone, all seemed lost
There was nothing to smile at
And no one to cry with.
In the huge school, within its green gate
Which seemed more like the bars of a jail,
I was all alone
Among the thousands, I was friendless
Everything seemed to be in a mess.
The true me was hidden behind a mask
Which for me was is indeed a tedious task.
I had more than most wished for
The badge of a captain and the class’ star
Yet I felt I was all alone
Tired of hearing all the sarcastic tones
Then she came like a shining light
My trust in friendship was again fresh and bright
How, when, where you did it I know not
But in me, a change was brought
For the best, and not for the worst
I was filled with a new trust.
Off fell my mask and behold;
The real I was once again mould.
What you did for me I shall never forget
I shall always thank god that we met!
